I swore I’d never start a business with a confusing name, but looks like, I’ve done it!
Why did I choose the name? Well, it means something to me. I use to be a Winemaker. In fact for 13 years I aspired to make the best Filthy Good Vino I possibly could (I mostly just drink it now). I worked with Guru’s, real ones, like Dr Bailly Carrodus at Yarra Yering, Tom Carson at Yering Station, Steve Webber at DeBortoli’s, Alex Moreau in Chassagne-Montrachet, Burgundy, France at Domain Bernard Moreau, Claude Thibault in Champagne at Devaux and even managed a stint in Moldova, perhaps more a life experience than wine one. I shared a table, a plate and some of the most amazing bottles of wine with these people of true passion. I love Filthy Good Vino, Great Food and sharing it with Awesome People. I recognise this great part of my life in my current business through it’s name The Social Larder. If you interested in all things Food & Wine check out my personal blog “Filthy Good Vino”.
Definition – Larder (lär’dər) n. A place, such as a pantry or cellar, where food and wine are stored.
The Larder stores things of richness that nourish the stomach, the heart and the mind.
Our name, The Social Larder, combines this sentiment with our passion for Social Business, Wine and Food.
Our “Larder” is packed with all of these amazing things, which we love sharing with people who are passionate about who they are and what they do.
Paul Kaan – Tasting Red Wine straight from the Press during Vintage. Filthy Good Vino, one of my other great passions.
